For the meeting on February 5, 2015 12pm – 1:30pm , members and guests heard and observed the very professional presentation by Bruno Naulls, Project Manager, Community Development, City of Lynwood, about the Linear Walking Park within the city. This linear park is parallel to the north side of the 105 Freeway from approximately Atlantic Ave. on the east to Long Beach Blvd on the west. Mr. Naulls, using plans presented the park as divided into Five Blocks: with areas described as follows for portions of the five segments: Block 1 – Dog Park, Parking; Block 2 – Fitness Stations; Block 3 – Parking, Restrooms, Children's Play Equipment and Open Space; Block 4 – Community Garden, Covered Seating Area, Parking; Block 5 – Nature Trail. Bruno 's presentation also included a detailed series of construction phases of the park, with explanations as to how drainage was incorporated into the park design. For example, water runoff is avoided by designing embankments at the south and north edges of the linear park in order that water runoff is absorbed into the ground instead of flowing to the street.

Bruno responded to questions about parking and also about the two existing houses within the park. A new concrete block wall will be provided as a protection to the two houses which will remain.
