Lynwood Rotary Meeting Update 07-10-2014

At our Lynwood Rotary Club meeting on Thursday noon, July 10, members and guests heard the interesting presentation by Andre Parvenu, Commissioner for the California State Commission on Redistricting. Andre presented to the audience a power point presentation and a DVD film that showed the 14 commission members doing their work during the first two years of the 10 year period for this commission.

Andre had a hand out of three boundary maps that showed the new districts in the southeast LA County area, including the City of Lynwood, for US Congressional districts, and California Senate districts and California Assembly districts.

President Raj provided an overview of the financial results of our four day fireworks sales (July 1 July 4.) As an overview, the sales went well. And again it was noted with much appreciation, the partnership the South Gate Rotary Club provided this year for the Lynwood Rotary Club.

Everyone is encouraged to suggest speakers and programs for our weekly Rotary meetings. In particular, we encourage everyone to talk to individuals about being a speaker, and to provide us with contact information, so we can follow up for specific meeting dates.
