At the Lynwood Rotary Club meeting on Thursday noon, July 31, members and guests heard two youth representatives from the Roosevelt ES Youthact group, talk about the Rotary Youth Aloha Picnic event they attended on Sunday, July 27 at the LA Zoo and the awards that club members received in recognition for the many successful events this Youthact group has held during the last year.

Please note a correction to the date of the previous meeting: it was July 24, not the incorrect date of July 21. Just to repeat thanks to Omar Franco for again being the speaker at that meeting. Among other things, Omar talked about current immigration issues as well as his experiences taking classes at LA City College. And to again repeat a quote from Omar: United We Dream, We dream for a better World, We are Dream Team LA and we will make our Dreams come True.

One event of particular interest for Lynwood residents and the surrounding communities is planned by the City of Lynwood for Friday, August 15, from 7pm 10pm at Ham Park: Mariachi Under the Stars, which will be free and open to the public!
