At the Lynwood Rotary Club meeting on Thursday noon, August 7, members and guests heard Javier Sanchez of Sanchez Awards, talk about his four year old business, as well, as his work with Pageantry Company for many years, in which he also was the employee who produced all the award products for the company. Javier noted that he has been a part of the Lynwood community for many years, and that his present business is located only about a block north of Lynwood, within the City of South Gate.

Javier talked about the available products he provides from a catalog book from a large supplier. Daniel Miller noted the high quality of award products he provides for the City of Lynwood, and notes that his prices are not only cost competitive but also he is able to complete orders much faster than any of the competing companies in the region.

Fernando Millan talked about the experiences of the Roosevelt ES Youthact Club at the recent Rotary District event held at the LA Zoo, Sunday, July 27. Preparations for the coming annual boat race in September at Redondo Beach Lagoon were discussed. (Thanks again for Joe Wang's assistance with the youth building their boats from cardboard for the annual race!)

In the absence of Marisela Santana, Public Information Officer for the City of Lynwood, Daniel Miller mentioned again the upcoming Mariachi Evening Event at Ham Park on Friday evening, August 15. The event will be from 7pm to 10pm: Mariachi Under the Stars, will be free and open to the public!

Also he encouraged everyone to come out and patronize the weekly Farmer's Market at Ham Park, every Thursday evening from 4pm to 9pm.

Everyone is encouraged to suggest speakers and programs for our weekly Rotary meetings. In particular, we encourage everyone to talk to individuals about being a speaker, and to provide us with contact information, so we can follow up for specific meeting dates.
