The December 3, Meeting,did not have a speaker, since the meeting was devoted to the annual voting for club officers for the year that begins on July 01, 2016. So Club President Martina Rodriguez will announce the club officers for 2016- 2017, to include the President- Elect, at the December 10 meeting.

At this meeting, guests Frank, Pearline and daughter Erica, brought a large and very tasty cake as a thank you for the Lynwood Rotary Club support for and participation in the Calderon Home Repair Project, in November, organized by the American Disabled Veterans organization and by the Team Home Depot who provided the workers and tools and repair supplies.

Erica also assisted in the vote count, as an outside objective observer and assistant.

Comments and Discussion. Club President Martina Rodriguez explained the plans for the Annual Candy Cane Lane Parade on Friday, Dec 4. The parade begins at 7 pm. However parents and Rotary youth from Roosevelt ES and Helen Keller ES will arrive at Martina's home at 5pm for a pot luck meal and for time to get organized before the parade starts. Martina's home is located on MLK Ave. at the point where the parade starts. Rotary member Ivan Esquivel said that this year Rotary member Lucy Avalos has had the float designed so that the name “Rotary” is more prominent in the float. Ivan said that this year he will be the driver for the float. Martina mentioned that she has obtained a new Rotary banner to be carried at the front of the Rotary entry in the parade.

Daniel mentioned that he will also attend the annual Tree Lighting Event in front of Lynwood City Hall, at 5:30 pm, Thursday, Dec 3.
