At the December 4 meeting, Rotary members and guests witnessed the annual election of officers for the Lynwood Rotary Club. Ramon Rodriguez was elected as the Lynwood Rotary Club President-Elect. This is the most important position of all the club's officers. This means that Ramon Rodriguez will be the club president for the 2016-2017 year, following Martina Rodriguez, who will be club president for 2015-2016.

Everyone was encouraged to participate in the City of Lynwood Annual Candy Cane-Christmas Parade which starts at 7pm on Friday, December 5. Rotary members should arrive at 4:30pm for a potluck supper and for socializing with Rotary Youthact members and their families. All parade participants from Rotary will form up in the street in front of Martina's home at 6:30pm.

For next week's meeting, it was agreed that everyone will bring a gift for a Christmas gift exchange. Rotary guests, are encouraged to come and also bring a gift for the gift exchange.

At the end of the meeting, Felipe Velasquez explained that the planned visit of the Danza Ritmica Popular from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California had to be canceled due to the lack of provision for lodging for the group. Felipe thanked all who supported this planned cultural exchange event, with four performances planned from Friday, December 5 through Sunday, December 7.
