At the October 29, Meeting the members and guests heard a presentation from the scheduled speaker, Joe Wang. He is a long time member of the Lynwood Rotary Club and served as Public Works Director for the City of Lynwood some time ago.

 

Mr. Wang talked and presented one of his informative and interesting photo presentationS of his world travels. In this presentation he showed and provided to all in attendance information and photographs from his recent tour to South America, where he visited the countries of Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.

 

He mentioned the major cities he visited were Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande. In his trip to Rio de Janeiro he talked about going to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer which is a symbol of Christianity across the world. The statue with a height of 125, has become a cultural icon of both Brazil and Rio de Janeiro.

On his visit to Rio Grande he mentioned that he visited city hall. Also he mentioned that on his flight to Brazil one of the flight attendants recommended to him to visit Rio Grande and buy some coffee because it tastes great.

 

Mr. Wang also showed the audience pictures of his visit to Uruguay, where he go to see the city of Punta del Este, which is a beautiful city known by his beaches. He mentioned that when he was walking around the beach he saw a hand sticking out of the sand like if someone one was buried but it was just a decoration.
